Common Causes and Symptoms

Shin Splints
Typically develop from overuse in running or jumping activities, especially on hard surfaces. Sudden increases in training intensity or volume can overwhelm bone adaptation. Poor footwear and biomechanical issues like flat feet contribute to increased stress on shin bones.
Signs and Symptoms
Pain along shinbone
Tenderness to touch
Pain during exercise
Mild swelling

Achillis Tendinopathy
Develops from repetitive stress on the Achilles tendon, particularly in running and jumping sports. Sudden increases in training intensity without proper conditioning can overload the tendon. Poor footwear choices and tight calf muscles contribute to increased strain on the tendon.
Signs and Symptoms
Pain and stiffness along the Achilles tendon,
Pain increase in the morning or after activity
Swelling or thickening around the tendon
Pain that worsens with running, jumping, or climbing stairs

Chronic Plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis occurs due to excessive strain or microtears in the plantar fascia (the thick band of tissue that supports your foot arch). Common causes include tight calf muscles or limited ankle mobility, flat feet or high arches, poor foot mechanics, sudden increase in activity or training load, inadequate or worn-out footwear, and prolonged standing, walking, or running on hard surfaces.
Signs and Symptoms
Sharp heel pain, especially in morning
Arch pain when walking
Pain worsening after rest
Difficulty with weight-bearing

Complex Ankle Sprains
These injuries often occur during sports or uneven surface walking, involving severe twisting of the ankle beyond normal range. Multiple ligaments can be damaged simultaneously. Previous ankle injuries increase vulnerability, especially without proper rehabilitation. High-impact landings and sudden directional changes contribute significantly.
Signs and Symptoms
Severe pain and swelling
Instability when walking
Bruising and tenderness
Difficulty bearing weight
